Français : Joseph Boulogne de Saint-George duelliste par Charles-Édouart de Beaumont.
Un jour, un maître d'armes chercha noise à Saint-Georges ; il devint insolent, et finit par lui demander où était sa salle.
— Ma salle? répondit Saint-Georges, elle est sous l'arche Marion! Je vous y attendrai demain ; j'y serai, moi, à six heures.
Le maîlre d'armes resta déferré ; cependant il jugea bien vite qu'il serait perdu s'il refusait l'invitation.
A six heures du matin, Saint-Georges, qui sortait du bal, était sous l'arche Marion avec un de ses amis, qui riait sous cape de cette salle en plein vent. Le chevalier n'avait qu'un fleuret ; ce duel était un assaut.
