Description
English: Chontal is the name given to a group of objects that are less rigidly geometric than Mezcala works. The three-dimensional quality, facial treatment, and hatch marks on the arms identify this figure as Chontal. The meanings of the implements in the hands-perhaps a gourd or "mano" (a cylindrical grinding tool), and a cup-are not known.
