English: Old Gateposts at High Coppice In days of old most gates would have looked something like this. The stone gateposts are probably original and may have been redundant for many years until this gate was fitted. Also, a one piece gate may not have been used, but five wooden poles or laths. This type of gatepost is very common, but they have usually been replaced by a modern version while they stand idly by. |
